RULES AND REGULATIONS

DATE: The competition will take place at Kirov Academy in Washington DC on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. 

ELIGIBILITY: The Kirov International Music Festival Competition is open to pianists and violinists of any nationality, aged 11-32. The contestants are responsible for obtaining their visa to come to the United State of America. The organizing committee will provide the official letter of invitation

WINNERS RECITAL:  The winners’ recital will be held at the Family Theater of Kennedy Center on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

COMPETITION FEE: $90

SENIOR DIVISION (17-32 YEARS)

REPERTOIRE

Piano

  • Minimum 20 min. solo repertoire, including a fast movement of a classical sonata

Violin

  • A complete concerto

In the competition, the jury will decide the length of performance.

Award

1st prize $3000x2 per.  (Piano and Violin)     

2nd prize $2000x2 per.                                   

3rd prize  $1000x2 per.                                  

2 Audience prizes $250x2

JUNIOR DIVISION (UNDER 17 YEARS)

REPERTOIRE

Piano

  • Approximate 20 min.

  • program of free of choice of compositions,

  • selected from Baroque, Classical, or Romantic periods.

  • Must include the first or last movement a Classical sonata

Violin

  • Time limit 20 min. program of free of choice,

  • including one movement from a Classical sonata,

  • Or one fast and one slow movements from a concerto

In the competition, the jury will decide the length of performance.

Award

1st prize $2000x2 per.  (Piano and Violin)     

2nd prize $1000x2 per.                                   

3rd prize  $500x2 per.
